THE BACKGROUND ON THIS MUSIC Sam was encouraged by a friend to send in her four fledgling songs on a bare bones acoustic guitar / vocal demo for the1999 Lilith Fair Talent Search competition put on by Universal concerts and LA's Star 98.7 radio. Sam was reluctant as these were some of her very first original songs and she was playing acoustic rhythm guitar on the tracks pretty badly along with her better guitar playing friend who also recorded the songs for her in his living room. It was all over the radio at the time that 20 female Singer/songwriters from all over the US were going to be chosen to via for a chance to be the Opening act at the Rose Bowl Lilith fair 1999. Sam did send her demo in and out of an astounding 10,000 submissions Sam became one of the 20 finalists. Although she did not go on to win the opening act slot as they could only choose one artist, she did play live with her friend Mike Reagan along with the finalists to a sold out house of 500 people at the world famous Troubador in Los Angles.

Producer Dave Polich has lent his magic to sweeten the recordings, navigating an ever fluctuating tempo but these versions are free so we wanted to include.
